Msgr. Kasza

Monsignor John attended Wayne State University, earning a BA in History. He went to Seminary after college and was ordained in 1993. Three years after ordination, he was sent to Rome where he earned his doctorate in theology specializing in sacramental theology and liturgy. His pastoral assignments have included: St. Frances Cabrini, Allen Park, St. Stanislaus Kostka, Wyandotte, Sacred Heart, Dearborn, St. Aidan, Livonia, St. Clement, Romeo, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Troy. From 1999 to 2009, he was on the faculty of Sacred Heart Major Seminary and from 2009-2012, he was the academic dean at SS. Cyril and Methodius Seminary in Orchard Lake. He also worked in the Chancery serving as Vice Chancellor of the Archdiocese and Secretary to Cardinal Maida and Archbishop Vigneron as well as being a consultant to the Office of Worship.

In terms of hobbies and interests, he plays tennis and likes to bicycle. He plays the flute and piccolo and is a member of the Orchard Lake Symphony Orchestra and the Michigan Flute Orchestra.
